An Art Deco Obi-sash clip ‘The Yaguruma’, by Mikimoto, Japan, 1930s. The clip with interchangeable settings in 12 different forms, attracted crowds at the Paris Expo in 1937. Its unique design was a breakthrough in multi-functional jewellery. Sold in Paris, it disappeared from public view, then reappeared at an auction in New York in 1989.
